How To Fix Lid Alignment?

Hi. I have a MacBook Pro 15 Core 2 Duo Model A1211, 350 GB HD, 3 GB RAM. The lid does not seat correctly when closed and there is about 1/8 inch gap on the left side of the latch. The lid does lock and unlock ok, but I would like to try and fix the alignment so there would be no warping or gaps after the laptop is closed.

Are there any links or tutorials here on how to repair this? Also the number 2 key has some resistance when pressed while all the other keys respond normally. Any ideas about what might be causing this and how to correct it?

Thanks for any help and advice

This is most likelly a problem with the hinges. If you wanted to, you could open it up, and remove just about everything(Motherboard, top casing, drives, etc) then you could fool around with them until they closed evenlly. Other than that, there isn't too much you can do about that. Really it's just a cosmetic problem. I wouldn't put that much effort into it, but if you want to, it's your call.

Thanks for your response Chris. I have read about the MacBook Pro lid warping issue on some machines. Man, to take the whole machine apart just to fix the lid alignment adjustment is a bit too much work to deal with. I guess there is no easy solution or workaround to improve the glitch. Thanks steve
