What to upgrade HD to SSD

Dears Sirs,

I would like to upgrade my Macbook (model nb: A1278; MacBook5,1; 2GHz) by replacement from HDD to SSD (SSD 850 EVO of Samsung).

My questions concerning of software. Already MBC works under Yosemite 10.10.2 . with TimeMashine back up.

I'm looking for instruction how to proceed with OSX:

- what should be the first step? (change the HDD to SSD then next use TimeMashine?)

-how to get up the system on new SSD after change from HDD ?

- White version would the best for this ols MCB - Macverick (or previous) or Yosemite (10.10.2)?

In the future I plan to change RAM from 2Gb to 4 (or 8Gb). Do you know where to buy proper RAM ?

Thank you in advance

Kris

Use an external HDD to perform a time machine backup. Then swap out the HDD for the SSD. Plug in the the external HDD that you used for the backup. Turn the computer on and immediately press and hold the "command" and "R" keys until you see the apple logo. The computer should load up OS X utilities. Click "disk utility" and format the new SSD to "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" and then partition it to "1 Partiton" and "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" and then click "options" then choose "GUID Partition Map" and accept then click "apply".

When its done partitioning the drive then close disk utility and go back to OS X utilities and click "restore from time machine backup" and follow its instructions.

Hope this helps.
