Why will my RQ-2102 not turn on?

My RQ-2102 will not power on. I have tried changing out the tapes and pushing various buttons but it has not solved my problem. How can I fix this?

Options

Your battery may be damaged. The best thing to do is to replace the batteries with new ones. Make sure they are 4 C batteries. Also, if you are using an AC Adapter, make sure it is plugged in both your device and a working outlet.
