Galaxy Tab 3 Not Charging properly Damaged Port

My samsung galaxy tab 3 10.1 kept disconnecting from charge i sent it off to samsung and they told me i had to pay

£92 to repair it even though i got the tablet for £180 i have checked my charger it appears one pin has gone missing and now when i try to charge my tab with any charger i have to hold it in a certain way for it to charge also when i use my offical charger a red x appears i was wondering what needs changing and if it is suitable form a complete newbie to do

The 10" Tab3 has the USB port on a flex cable that plugs into the motherboard. Very easy to replace.

The 7" and 8" have the USB port directly soldered onto the motherboard. I wouldn't suggest trying this unless you have soldering experience or want to learn. I replace them using a hot air station and desoldering equipment.
