Lens sensor wont pick up my lenses.

My Nikon D3200 stopped recognizing my lenses. I took it to a local camera shop and they said that it would need to be sent off to Nikon to have the contacts and maybe the ribbon cable replaced for the lens sensor on the camera body. How hard would it be to do this myself and where would I find the parts? Id rather not lose my camera for 4-6 weeks and spend about $200. I might as well buy a new camera body off Ebay if this is the case.
