Home button problem after replacing battery

I have just replaced my iPhone 5S battery using the iFixit battery replacement kit and ran into a problem. When I opened the case using the provided suction cup, the case wouldn't budge, so I gradually increased force until it popped open very quickly. This yanked the home button cable right off the connector. The cable seems to be intact though, but now after changing the battery the home button does not work. The weird thing is that the Touch ID scanner still works. What should I do to fix this? Is the problem likely the home button cable, the socket that it plugs into, or something else?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Probably just Home button flat cable. Even though looks intact it is very possible that it is broken.

Most likely some components near the battery/dock connectors were knocked off. Look for FL5 and C176 if you have a schematic.
