Not seeing power cord hook up

My nook color tablet (gray) will come on but it won't charge. The plug turns yellow but the screen says the battery is discharging. Have you got any ideas on what to do?

Options

Doug, start by using a different cable. If that does not work, replace the battery. If that fails, replace the charging port. Use these guides to work on your Nook.
