MacBook won't charge with any charger.

Late 2008 13" macbook

My MagSafe adapter kept losing the little metal part on the end that sticks to the magnet, and then I lost it for good. I tried using my charger without it, it worked for a few seconds at a time while I held it in the right spot, but then it stopped working and won't respond to my friends' chargers (the light on the charger doesn't light up) and now the battery is dead so I can't do anything. Any thoughts?

Look to see if the connector came off in the Mag-safe slot. That would prevent another one from working.

Nope it's not in there. The other chargers fit completely normally.

I would probably change out the Mag-safe board first, you may have shorted it out with the uncovered adapter. Look to see if the pins have turned black.

I had a similar issue a few days ago. Is the light on the Magsafe charger very dimly flickering?
