not charging usb port damaged on the phone

When I try to charge my phone ,I am getting a black symbol and not the thunderbolt. I plugged the phone in to a in car lighter charger and there was a small bang . the phone is ok because I bought a new battery ,but cannot charge . Has any one any idea please many thanks

bunji, possible damage could have been done to the PM IC. I'd start by disassembling the phone and take a look at the components on the motherboard. Look for charred, missing or otherwise damaged components.
