I've had to replace the optical drive fan in several of these. Some of the fans can be fixed by simply pushing on the center of the fan to move it back in place.

You said "Hi, i push on the fan and the silence return, thanks, very much. But: On TG Pro: "Fan Diagnostics: These fans appear to be not working properly: Optical Disk Drive (ODD)" What can Do?" First restart the machine and run the diagnostics again. It's Apple part # 922-9120 If you get the same failure use this guide: iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2428 Optical Drive Fan Replacement

will this also work for the iMac Intel 27"

Luis, sure it will!

JAIME, the problem is most likely related to the sensor of the optical drive fan. Replacing the sensor and/or the fan should resolve this. Try to start under Safe Boot mode. Follow this Apple TN" OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?. Download and install this Temperature Gauge Pro. It should help show you what your sensors are telling you.

Follow what OT has above

Also did you also get this: OWC In-line Digital Thermal Sensor for iMac 2011 Hard Drive Upgrade. You'll need it if you are swapping the old HD for a SSD drive.

It appears you have other issuers here.

by

Please tell me.

by

Did you open it and find which fan was making noise and push on the center of them to reseat it?

by

You only need the sensor I pointed you to if you swap out the HD for the SSD. Its a link so click on the blue to learn more about it.

by

Looking at your TG Pro output looks like the HD sensor is working so thats not the issue here. Are you sure you plugged in the sensors back (or correctly) when you disconnected the cables from the logic board to add in the 2nd drive cables?
