While Handoff won't work, is BT LE possible?

While I understand that Handoff won't work as it there is additional information that Apple checks for before enabling Continuity, is BT LE possible in the Mid 2010 MacBook Pro 13" Unibody? It appears that it is feasible for the following year's model; but I can't determine if the Mid 2010 and Early 2011 models use the same daughter card or not. There are BT LE devices that I would like to be able to talk with my laptop, and not merely be limited to my iPhone.

First you'll need to review the info on this site: Continuity-Activation-Tool. It will give you all of the info on getting it to work.

But you do need to know what your system model is. Plug in your serial number into this web sites lookup: EveryMac - SN lookup

As to talking to your MacBook thats not really Hand-Off. Are you getting things confused here?

Hand-off allows you to jump between systems not loosing your place like watching a movie or looking at a web site or writing a memo in email. It does allow you to jump between systems with a FaceTime video or audio call though. While not obvious you don't need Hand-off services to create a FaceTime on your Mac.

Mac's don't have Siri services like iPhones and iPads. But, you can setup dictation and voice control using an app like Voice Actions or Dragon Dictate.
