Blank, black screen after screen change, still hear device when on?

Hey guys; just repaired an iPhone 6, and when I tried to put the new screen in, all I saw was a black screen. Even when I tried the old digitizer, I got a black screen. After constant searching online, I found that iFixIt said to try power cycling by removing the battery connector then reconnecting it. I tried this on the old digitizer, and it worked, so I went to try the same thing on the new digitizer, and it still didn't work. Now, even when I try the old digitizer, the screen is blank. I still do hear the sounds of the phone when its on, like received texts and so on. How do I fix this issue? Helpvis much appreciated.

I believe you should get a new screen, as I believe the first replacement screen is defective or was damaged during the initial repair. Which is why once you power cycle the phone, the old/original screen works but the new one doesn't.

Remember to turn your iPhone OFF before attempting the repair.

Otherwise you could blow something in the backlight circuit, and THAT could be the 2nd reason why you aren't seeing anything on the screen. To be confirmed by testing with a known good screen,

Most importantly, don't mix up the screws that hold the shield in place.

The third reason for no display after screen replacement (if it tested OK before re-installing the metal plate over the screen connectors) is long screw damage to traces inside the board due to using the wrong screw in the wrong screw hole.

yes, try new screen first. But be aware of this issue---mixed up screws in the iPhone 6 causes no backlight due to long screw damage to the board.

Jessa - I actually ordered another digitizer and tried that, that still did not work. In terms of the screw issue, this has all been testing before I even reinstalled the metal plate! So no screws have even been attempted to be screwed back yet. Any help on this issue? Could I possibly send in my phone to you or show you pictures?
