Wi-fi service wont start.

I have an LG L9. Until recently the phone worked fine. Connected to the wi fi in my house without issue. The other day I noticed that the wi fi was not on. When I try and turn it on it just keeps trying but never gets beyond the attempt to connect. I have had people tell me to try and reset my router. Problem is the phone never even gets to the point where it see any wi fi signal. Whatever it is its this particular phone. Anyone else have this issue
