Loud clicking noise on power on?

On power on of laptop, the device does not boot, and there is a loud clicking noise coming from the laptop, unsure of origin however appears to be rear right hand portion.

This occurs indefinitely however when loading dell diagnostics pre-boot, no error is reported. This is leading me to think that the issue may be caused by the hard drive.

Prior to this, the laptop was suffering from chronic overheating problems.

Can anyone help?

(I have some experience with fixing desktops if relevant).

Footnote 1: ALso the laptop has a core i7, not i3 as listed by ifixit.

Footnote 2: Keyboard has also failed

I am computer illiterate, but I did have this same problem at one time. It was a super easy fix for me, but I didn't realize it for several hours. check to see if any of your keys are stuck. I think one of my F keys was stuck down after my dog decided to walk across my keyboard.
