iPod Touch 3rd Gen doesn't respond to touch.

Hi there,

I recently replaced the touchscreen & digitizer on my iPod, but now the touch screen doesn't respond.

The iPod itself is working fine ,but it will not respond to touch...

Help here would really be appreciated.

The cable is either loose or damaged. You need to be really careful when you open this iPod, you will likely mess up the digitizer frame so be really careful. I would get another frame just in case you damage it.

If this doesn't help, the digitizer is busted. You will need to replace it. You can find the guide here. The part is in the parts and tools list.

did the touchscreen work after you replaced the digitizer?

it could be the connecotr for the digitizer, same are sometimes pretty weak.

i would open it again and check that conection - you don't have to reassemble it to test the touchscreen - simply connect it and try to use it - if it's well connected but not working - it's most likely faulty
