What could be causing my screen to go black at certain angles?
Macbook Pro 13" Mid 2012 A1278
I've done some poking around forums and haven't found an answer that fits my exact situation yet. My MacBook Pro's screen goes black unless I tilt it to certain angles.
I have seen some people talking about whether you can see the screen faintly if you shine a flashlight on it. I tried that, but I could not see the screen shining a flashlight on it.
It is also interesting that this issue started over a week ago, and it would only work if the computer was at about 45-55 degree angle which is very hard to work at. However, when I was looking at it again today, now I can extend it almost to 90 degrees which his good because it's easier to work from but the screen still goes black if I extended to 90 degrees or beyond.
I hooked up my husband's external/dual monitor to it and that works fine and does not go out when I tilt the screen, so I think that is a good sign?
It is worth noting that I ran the Apple Hardware Test but no errors were found. Finally, it may also be worth noting that I just recently put in a new hard drive (well technically I put in a new one, then when the old one got fixed, I put the old one back in). I am not sure if it could be something with that. Should I check to make sure there aren't any lose screws or anything?
One other thing that is happening is that when I try to watch YouTube videos, it says my flash is outdated which I have never seen before. That may be an unrelated thing, though.
Any help would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!!!
Is this a good question?
