My 1tb hard rive in my 27" late 2009 iMac makes sounds and doesn't run

It makes a beeping sound when it gets turned on. Also it doesn't recognize that there even is a hardrive. The computer doesn't even load up anything.

Can you give us the last four digits of your serial number. You'll find it on the bottom of the systems foot. That way we can guide you the reset of the way and aim you to the best drive for your system.

This may be one with the proprietary sensor cable, so check before just ordering any drive.

Thanks Mayer! Forgot to point that out - So true! If you do want to switch to a different drive make you can! But, you will need to swap out the sensor cable to the correct one for the drive you are putting in.
