Will be cleaning MacBook logic board. have some questions

So I lent my macbook air 13" mid 2013 to a friend 2 weeks ago. when he gave it back it seemed bit laggy and my friend confessed he spilled bit water on it and hasn't used it for a week. Good thing is atleast it turns on but is bit laggy and i see some corrosion on logic board. So i looked up on internet and finally decide to clean the logic board following this guidelines from ifixit

Electronics Water Damage

Just have some dumb questions about the process.

-do I have to remove the heatsink when soaking logic-board in 91% or 99% isopropyl alcohol as I am bit noob about applying thermal paste and putting it back on.

-should I remove the PCIe drive, AirPort board and soak them separately or just leave it on there.

-do I leave the ports (USB, Thunderbolt, etc) open and soaked in aswell.

The Water damage indicator on the I/O board is still white so I don't think I need to clean them but I will try to see any signs of corrosion.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?
