Wet phone, Digitizer or motherboard?

phone was wet, powered up before drying (no, not by me) screen flashed some colors and patterns. powered off and on a few times with same results, then all black screen. phone charges and makes unlock sound when swiped, but has all black display.

Is there a way to tell if it is the screen or the motherboard? I don't really want to try both, that would put me in new phone cost.

Thanks.

There's no real way to tell until you clean the board with ISO alcohol and try again if screen still black then you will need to try a screen

Best of luck to you. I got my S3 wet the other day in saltwater; I didn't power it off right away either and it went through various flashing, etc. But I did open it up after that and have been drying it for days. I used rice first, which I've learned can help or not; it seemed to help mine some as I've regained some functions. I have also left it open with battery removed to air out as another site indicated, and I used my dehumidifier also.

It's now showing that all appears to be working, and I receive calls/sounds/notifications.

It won't recognize my input on the screen. Should I clean the motherboard, and where is that located? Thanks!
