New screen worked before sticking the adhesive on.

Me and my husband are replacing my ipod screen. We put the adhesive on and before we took the other side off we checked to make sure everything turned on. It did and everything worked fine. After we took the other side off and proceeded with putting everything together we tried it again after. But now it does not turn on or anything. I have it plugged up to the computer for power but nothing! Any ideas to what may have happened?
