Why won't my phone turn on? It's not the battery!

I picked my phone up one morning, it was really hot and hasnt turned on ever since. I thought it was the battery at first after having it sent away I was told it would be £200 so I said no. I bought a battery online and fitted it myself using one of your videos which was great! However the phone still doesn't turn on and when I try to charge it the phone gets really hot but on the right hand side which is strange because the battery is on the left hand side. Do you have any idea what could be causing the problem?

If you could help I would really appreciate it!

Thank you.

You may have a faulty U2 IC. The U2 IC is what manages the voltage for charging the battery. The U2 IC fails often if a person uses a third party or generic charger. Using a generic charger can cause damage to the U2 IC because they usually supply the wrong voltage to the IC which can cause damage. Even if you are using the correct charger the IC may still fail but it is not as common as the IC failing due to using a incorrect charger. The U2 IC is on the logic board and can be repaired by someone with the correct tools. You may also want to check the lighting connector to make sure it is not causing an issue.

I am guessing its the U2 IC mainly because the phone gets hot when trying to charge, but not at the location of the battery.
