Your system uses a SSD which is very different than a hard drive. At this point I'm not sure if you can recover anything.

To try to recover will need to remove the SSD from the system and then connect it to another Mac system using a SSD carrier (M.2 to USB). OWC offers a unit: Envoy. Your other option is to get a replacement SSD and set it up as your internal drive.

OK, with the SSD removed in the carrier you'll need to try to salvage the files. I would use Data Rescue or something similar. The only issue here is what you did in reformatting your drive if you scrub it in the process.

Hey Sonic, data recovery is not difficult for normal data loss problem, but if the hard drive is damaged, then the first thing you need to pay attention to is fixing the hard drive.

But you need to notice that after fixing the hard drive, all the files are gone and it seems like it is a new hard drive. At this moment, don't put any new files into the drive 'cause if this happens, you will meet data overwritten situation and if this happens, the chance of data recovery will be reduced.

Here is a list of best data recovery softwares that I have found:

1. uFlysoft

2. Recuva

3. Disk Drill

4. Glary Undelete

5. Panda Recovery

6. SoftPerfect File Recovery

7. EaseUs Data Recovery Software
