iPod speech constantly interrupts by telling what I'm listening to

A few months ago my iPod nano started doing this. At random moments the computer voice says what I'm listening to and goes on my saying "is equal to..." and starts naming all my playlists.

Sometimes the voice doesn't interrupt for days, sometimes every 20 seconds and everything in between.

This is very annoying, as you might understand. Is anyone familiar with this problem and how to fix it?

I have voice over turned off.

Answer this question I have this problem too

My guess is that this might actually be a earphone cable problem. If the earphone cable is damaged in such a way that it appears to the iPod Nano that you are pressing the control button at random times, then I think that you will get this kind of behavior. I would try switching to a different set of earphones and see if it fixes the problem.
