My home button for cracked and now my fingerprint will not read. I went into settings to try to turn it on but it will not let me turn it on. Do I need to replace the home button to get it to work. Or is there something I can do. I've only had the phone 3 weeks. I don't even know how the button got cracked.

Go to Apple or just forget it.
PS: don't upgrade or restore iOS or your phone will die.

You can't replace the home button in the iPhone 6 with afternarket parts. Since the phone is 3 weeks old, I would recommend taking it to an Apple Store ASAP. They should be able to help you out.
