keyboard and mouse not working

My Sony VAIO laptops keyboard wont work. At times it doesn't type at all, when I go to put my password in it wont type but the backspace button will type something (I of course can't see what its typing because its hidden) I have to press the ctrl and fn keys simultaneously for 10 seconds to get it to work but then it stops after 5 minutes. Even with a wireless keyboard it doesn't work. My mouse will work fine except when I use the wheel it zooms in and out and not scroll the page at the same time. I have disabled and restarted, run virus scans, and just dealt with it but its gotten worse. I can type in my password and then it does it again. It used to be every few minutes now its every few seconds! What else can I do?
