Screen stops working for days and then randomly works.

-Screen stops working in the middle of me using it

-when i try to reset it it will take me to the lock function to turn it off but because the screen doesn't work i can't slide it to turn it off.

-after letting it loose battery twice and charging it it started working for a bit and then stopped again.

is this worth fixing or should i just forget about it?

Before I would give up on the phone I would open it up and check all the connectors inside and make sure they are properly connected. Use this guide: iPhone 1st Generation Display Assembly Replacement

It can be as simple as a loose connector.
