Is there a way to repair the NFC Reader?

My Wii U-Console does not recognize any amiibo's. I tried it with two amiibos now and I am sure that the NFC Reader of the Gamepad is broken. Also the console is older than 2 years so there is no warranty left. Is there a way that I can replace the NFC Reader on my own?

Options

I fixed mine by opening the case and putting a folded up post-it note on the NFC controller. This helps the foam pad on the case to press a little harder on the NFC controller. Seems to have done the trick for me.
