question mark folder showed up again.

This had happened to me too. I took out the hdd cable from the mother board and connected my hard drive to an enclosure and booted it up externally. It worked for a couple of weeks but the question mark folder showed up again. I'm not sure if i just need a new hard drive now. Any ideas?

Options

Boot from your system installation disk, go to the second screen pull down menu and run Disk Utilities.
