Everything is working on my iPod except it won't play any music?

My iPod was fine and playing music through headphones as usual and it was great until I found my Dad's old speakers. I plugged it in and a massive buzzing sound startled me. No music played through my iPod. Now whenever I plug in my headphones no music is playing. However, if I turn the volume to max and the volume to max on the amplifier it plays the music at a very quiet volume.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!! Have I blown out my iPod??

paulmin, if it did receiver power through the head phone jack, anything could have taken a hit. I recommend that you disassemble your iPod using this guide, and take a look at the logic board. Check for any obvious damage, like burned components. Pay close attention to the audio IC, located front lower right on the logic board as well as as the power management IC. It is possible that you may have to replace the complete logic board, but start with a new headphone jack flex first.
