Can you give us the last four digits of your serial number so we can correctly identify which model series you have.

The problem here is there is three different parts depending on the series and they are different!

I suspect you got the wrong one. The P/N on the original cable is what you should search for. I would recommend you return the clearly wrong cable and get the correct cable.

It'll work just fine, don't drive yourself nuts. These cables are compatible and I assure you are all equally bad. Seven years in laptop repair and I have never replaced a drive cable on anything but a 13" Unibody, they are terrible cables!

Just curve it inside the gap between the optical drive and the motherboard and you will be fine.

Most vendors selling these parts are clueless what works with what and just robbing them out of recycled machines. I assure you you will drive yourself nuts dealing with them, so if it works, just use it as is!
