DsiXL about touchscreen replacement teardown

Re teardown at Nintendo DSi XL Touchscreen Replacement):

1 the retaining flap that we flip at steps 12 and 13 - can these be replaced if they break off (like mine, gulp)?

2. in re-inserting the zif's (doing these steps in reverse) - does the zif go in between the retainer and the top metal strips, or underneath the top level strips (I can't see from the photo or from my now somewhat mangled dsi xl)?

Thanks very much for any help - I'd really like to get my childs DSiXL working again.
