Why is it not turning back on?

All I did with my galaxy s3 was click reset because I upgrade to a new phone and was going to give it to someone. After I hit reset, it shut off itself and I thought it was going to turn back on to just restart and never came back on. I've waited enough to try and turn it back on but no matter what I do it won't turn back on anymore. I've tried using other batteries and cables with the same phone but nothing works when it comes to my phone. Please help
