When plugged in to wall charger or computer it keeps disconnecting and

All my other I products work fine but the iPod will keep disconnecting and reconnecting every 3-8 minutes. All cables are good is it the iPod 30 pin plug?

Options

Two things, check the dock on the bottom of the iPod for dirt or damage, then try a different 30- pin cable. Let us know what you find.
