Impossible to restore after battery replacement

Hi.

My iPhone 4s worked well except the fact that the battery was very used.

I change my battery by following these instructions and I succeed to disassemble and reassemble my iPhone without any difficulty. However, after having turned on my device, the cellular connection didn't work with the new battery. As written in the tutorial, I tried to restore the device using iTunes (in DFU mode and not). This message appear: "the iphone could not be restored: an unknown error occurred (1)".

What is the solution to solve this problem ?

Thank you for your answer.

It looks as though an IC chip has been removed. Shown in red

ps. Those battery connector screws are in mighty rough shape. Might want to get them replaced before they are completely rounded on top.

Thank you st3v3w.

Is it possible to repair it ?

This is the Baseband Power IC U18_RF .

This chip supplies the power to baseband IC.

If its missing then your phone will have no baseband.

You can purchase the part on ebay. http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from=R40&...

You would need a good soldering iron and flux or soldering station with heat gun and some steady hands. if you are not confident with this your best bet is to bring it to a local shop to have it replaced for you or by someone with soldering experience.

Do you want I send you picture of the problem ?

yes---take a nice clear picture of your logic board. Especially of the dock connector (peel off the black sticker) and the edge of the board near the battery
