Hard Reset your device by holding the On/Off button 40 seconds or until you see a picture of a tree with a boy reading underneath it. If the Kindle doesn't boot set it to charge for about 2 hours or even better over night and try hard resetting the device again. If this doesn't work you can assume that it's a hardware issue and proceed to contacting client service.

Well, Mitchell, there are a lot of reasons why this could be. The most common answer is the Kindle simply isn't charged. Find a micro USB cord and plug your kindle in.

Other reasons why your kindle won't turn on are more serious problems such as battery or motherboard failure. Don't fret because you can figure out how to replace the battery and replace the motherboard here!

Be sure to head over to trouble shooting to narrow the problem down!

Begin by charging the device with a micro usb cable. It may just be that there is not enough battery life to support the device and permit it to turn on.

The other thing I realized and this is something I learned the hard way, is that if there was a mass of liquid in the device’s ports(anyone of them) the device will not turn on. I recommend you calling Amazon Customer Service to get the kindle fire 7 repaired or replaced if needed. There is also a one year warranty for the device. I had to get mine replaced and they sent me a kindle fire that has a dead battery icon and is incompetent of charging. So, if you are in real need of getting a kindle fire, just go to target or walmart and buy a NEW one not a refurbished one.
