That is reference designator C381 which is a 0.1uF 16V 10% capacitor in a 0201 package.

C381. It is not a resistor. Shorting the pads together will short out your whole phone, so yes--will be a problem.

This component is unlikely to cause a no power problem in the 5s. Try prompting your phone to boot by plugging it into the charger.

Give us more details about your specific problem and the history of the phone and we can give you some guidance.

Thanks for help!

Firstly I was trying to replace to new lcd since old lcd has glass broken.

Once when I replaced with new lcd, and turned on power, I felt that my phone shows that high temperature than before, so I reworked from disassembled whole lcd screen and reconnect with logic board without complete @%^'y with body( just connected the cable only), when I turned on the power, I saw the apple logo, but unfortunately my baby touched phone so the phone moved little bit,yes I believe the connector had been short out.. Anyway it was turned off by itself so I re-turn on the power..Then I start to seeing the apple logo with unclear spot on lcd.

Then I turned off again try to disconnect the connector which is on the picture part, I made mistake that I hit(?) or touched(?) C381 clean the connector..

After that, couldn't turn on again...

Can u help me out?

Sun---you need to rule out no power vs no display. Does your phone connect to iTunes (you can leave display on or off, doesn't matter. just connect battery and plug into your computer.

Thank u so much.

I just saw this and followed as ur comment.

And it look like working properly, however since C381 has broken, I think it will have some issue later right?

Could you give me little more advise ?

Thanks

probably not. most capacitors just filter electrical signals and make them look nice and pretty for the ic chips to understand. Unless the schematic says "critical" then you probably won't notice. time will tell.
