Triggers damaged after getting stuck in Nerf armor case, can I fix?

After sitting in my backpack for a couple hours, the L and R trigger buttons somehow got stuck in my Nerf Armor case. They were being held in place so they be used, but I managed to remove the case after a few minutes. However, the buttons still don't work and it feels like they were pulled up a little. Is there any way myself or a local store can repair this or do I need to send the system into Nintendo? This was the first time the buttons were stuck like that even though I've stored the system the same way many times before.
