How to identify the model of MBAir? Is it 2008 or 2009?

I need to replace my LCD. The seller requires to identify the model whether it is 2008 or 2009? How to identify it? All I have from the hardware test utility is MacBookAir 2.1.

MacBookAir2,1 is a mid2009 model. I have the same one.

There are a couple tools at your disposal. First is the iFixit Identify Your Mac Tool, or you can also use EveryMac. Either one should have the information you're looking for.

One way to check is to see what kind of display output port you have in your flip down tray.

  • The early 2008 model came with a micro-dvi connection (I have this model)
  • The late 2008/early 2009 to present have the Mini Display port.

If you have a output display adapter you can hook it up to an external display and check the system configuration.
