Can't hear or be heard when making phone calls.

I'm working on a 5 s which took a few knocks and needs the screen replaced. Another problem was that the user couldn't hear or be heard when making phone calls. I replaced the camera/ mic / earpiece cable as well as the earpiece and clip. That still didn't solve the problem.

Replaced the original parts , no difference. Checked the connector on the logic board and nothing obvious as far as damage goes. Other than this problem the iPhone works fine. Any thoughts on what the problem could be?

I should also mention that using hands free and earphones w/ mic also yield the same results.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Anybody? Bueller?

so I placed the logic board inside an entirely different chassis and am still having the same issue. This tells me that its definitely the Logic Board. The only issue is that while in a phone call you cannot hear the other caller and they can't hear you. Other than that audio works fine in other apps

Hard reset?

Update

Also are you sure you have the right speaker part? I have found that some suppliers send the 5g part instead of the 5s part and they do differ. The 5g has 2 contact points and the 5s has 4 also the flex cable should have 4 contact points as well.

Did the hard reset, have the proper replacement parts even switched between replacement and original, no luck. I have one more front cam / speaker / mic cable to try. If that doesn't work then it has to be the logic board.

Hmmm, this may sound stupid but have you tried plugging and unplugging the iphone audio jack rapidly a few times? Sometimes the headset/standard mode can go into a kind of limbo and that can solve it. Also maybe try a tiny bit of compressed air over the connector. Maybe there is something you cant see stopping it from making a good connection. Also make sure the metal shield over the connectors is on properly even while testing because it releases easily.

Tried all of the above. Even suspected but didn't replace the headphone jack, though I did clean it thoroughly. It also works fine for music. . The weird part is that any other app has normal sound. It's just making a phone call where e sound stops working.
