Is iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s dock connector the same?

I have an iPhone 5s dock connector, is it possible to install it in the 5? I know the 5s's home button is in the dock connector but, does it technically matter? Thanks!

Yes, they are different.

No, they are not interchangeable. Some components are different, mainly the home button circuit; and they have a different connecting cable, so they attach to the logic board a bit differently.
