strange stripes on Toshiba Satellite A-100-410 screen

the screen shows irregular stripes and parts of a repeated image. I fear that the graphic card is the problem. But the card is part of the motherboard. Is this problem fixable without installing a new motherboard?

Ad, first of I would suggest that you post an image of your screen with your question. That way we could se what you see. Second, connect an external momnitor to your computer. If that displays properly, your GPU (graphics card) is not the issues. If it does not display, you could try a reflow/reball of your GPU or you are definitely looking at a new motherboard.
