Where can I get a replacement charging port on the tablet?

Hi. I have a Nexus 7 (2 years old) and the charging port is loose and will not charge now. I have had to wiggle the charging cord around in the past in order for it to connect and start charging but now nothing. The tablet is dead and since I cannot secure my information on it, I don't want to send it anywhere for repairs. Does anyone know if I can get the charger port part and replace it myself? If I can, where can I purchase a charging port?

Thank for any help.

Hey mate. This is a pretty common problem and luckily, yes you can buy one and replace it yourself. I was able to find the assembly on amazon;

http://www.amazon.com/Google-NEXUS-Power...

but you might be able to find it for a bit cheaper if you want to look around. And I also found a guide to help you replace it;

Nexus 7 I/O Assembly Cable Replacement

Hope this helps you out mate.

Oh wow. Thanks so much. I'll give it a try. As an 'older' grandmother, I'm a little behind on technology but figured I don't have much to lose as I am not just going to hand my tablet over to someone who can see my info and since I can't get it to charge, I may as well try fixing it myself. Thanks again. That's awesome.
