Can my MacBook Pro mid 2010 model A1286 take 16Gb RAM?

I know officially from Apple this machine can have only 8Gb. I was wondering if anyone has tried and got it working with 16Gb.

Can you give us the last four digits of your serial number so we can correctly identify your system. Apple has quite a few different systems in this series.
