How to test Logic Board
Okay, so I have an iMac with a power issue. I bought a PSU in hopes that it would start up my system but no such luck. It went up in smoke. I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with the logic board but I want to know for sure. How would I go about testing it (with a multi-meter)?
Thanks in advance,
-Phil

Did you see really see a puff of smoke? Was it the PSU or on the logic board?

Can you give us some background on what happened with your system. What was the symptoms the first time you replace the PSU?
by Dan
The puff of smoke appeared to come from the PSU. The symptoms were the same with the old PSU. The system simply wouldn't power on. No diagnostic lights are lit.

whereat on the PSU did the smoke come from. Have you checked to see which component "goes off in flames":-)

It looked like it came from the connector that goes to the MOBO and SATA drive (12 pin?). I checked all the components and I can't find any visible damage on either power supplies.
