I was wondering if the LCD replacement for the ipad mini LCD 2nd gen, could be used as a replacement for ipad mini LCD,

would it work? are the LCD interchangeable between the two generations?

No. The connectors are the same, but the mini retina LCD will not work in the mini original, nor vice versa
