iPhone 5c fails to charge

iPhone 5c was failing to charge. Just changed the lightning port connector and is still failing to charge. Need help troubleshooting.

Change your battery and see if that makes a difference. Did you check your board for any missing components etc." worst case scenario would be failed charging IC

Hi Dustin, when/how/why did this start happening? And I have to ask, did you try a known good cable and charger like Mandy said?
