Why can't I connect to wifi?

I have had this device for a few weeks and have had a lot of trouble connecting it to the wifi in my house. How do I go about getting it connected?

In order to connect to the wifi in your house you will have to first know the name and password of your wifi. You can either get these from your providers or just seeing if you wrote them down anywhere. The final step is to activate the wifi connectivity on your phone.
