Is it possible to upgrading bluetooth to latest 4.0 through swapping?

I have MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Late 2008 that i'm in the process of improving it. I've bought higher capacity ram, as well as a solid state drive and a new battery to replace the old one. i was curious to see if it were possible to change the bluetooth component to the modern bluetooth 4.0 in an effort to enable the continuity feature apple offers.

Sadly, the AirPort card is deeply buried inside the displays clutch cover. Here's the IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Late 2008 and Early 2009 Airport Card. Even still there is no AirPort part to replace it which has BT 4.0.

You're still in luck here as you can use a USB BT 4.0 dongle. Review the Continuity Activation Tool web site for the details and the needed alterations to the OS to make Handoff services work with Yosemite (10.10.x)

that is unfortunate that it can't be done by swapping out the airport card for the newer 4.0 ready one. however id like to give gratitude for cluing me in on the USH BT 4.0 dongle alternative, thank you.
