How much do the individual iPad Air 2 component weigh?

trying to redesign it and trying to see how much weight can be reduced if new material is adopted.

I doubt you can do better than Apple here. They have some very smart designers. Remember, its not the weight alone, you need to also think about how bendable and structurally strong it is. Sure, you could use fiberglass or other lightweight metal but then you'll find the integrity of the case is not up to everyday use. Think of it this way a finely cut crystal wine glass you got from Denmark is not the same you would find at the local bar.

If this is a school project how about tackling something everyday that never works well like a can opener. I've always hated having the cut metal disk drop down so I couldn't grab it, unable to handle odd sizes, tall cans, or the possibility of it tipping over. Powered or mechanical all fail ;-}
