Soda spilled on tracking pad and is sticking...how do I clean it?!

I have figured out how to clean the keyboard, but the mouse button is sticking. Could someone help me figure out how to clean this? I've tried to just use damp paper towels, but it appears the problem is under the mouse. Would appreciate any help!

also if you haven't looked inside the laptop there's nothing between the keyboard and insides but air. If corrosion hasn't affected you yet it still may. Follow this advice.

You can remove the top case, run it under hot water to dissolve the sugars, (much better than putting anything wet on top of the assebled machine) rinse it with dielectric cleaner, followed 99% alcohol, let it dry for 24hrs.
